Key Pests in Carindale

The 3 key pests affecting homeowners in Carindale are

  1. Termites
  2. Ants
  3. Cockroaches

Termites love the warm weather and humidity that’s typical in Brisbane suburbs such as Carindale. With the year round warm temperatures termites are active all year round so every homeowner must have annual termite inspections at the very least.

Ants are not seen as a dirty pest, but they can be very annoying. In Carindale there are a wide range of pest ants that cause problems inside and outside the home, which often require a specialist ant control treatment to eliminate the problem.

With the Westfield Shopping Centre, other business and generally built up area, cockroaches are also a common problem. Mostly the problem are the large cockroaches which we deal with as part of our general pest treatment, but if it’s a problem with small cockroaches inside, it may require a specialist cockroach treatment.

And during the cooler months, rodent control becomes important as rats and mice as come inside looking for warmth and shelter.

Carindale - Interesting facts

Carindale is a relatively young suburb, getting its name from the Carindale housing estate that was constructed in 1976. The suburb came into being in 1980, when it separated from Belmont.

Of course most of south Brisbane will know of the Westfield Shopping Centre in Carindale, one of the largest in Brisbane, giving Carindale a mini-CBD feel.

Although Cardinale itself is a fairly young suburb, it still has a number of older buildings, as Belmont has been around for a lot longer. Europeans first settled in the area in the 1850s, with agriculture and forestry being the main industries. The Belmont State School started in 1876.
