In the 1880s, Loganholme was home to a number of sugar mills and processing sites, the success of which led to the opening of a school, post office and other facilities, to service the area’s growing population. A ferry service across the Logan River served residents faithfully until 1930 when the Loganholme Bridge was opened. Development in the 1960s saw a retail and commercial boom, with the Hyperdome offering a modern shopping experience for residents today.
As an outer city suburb with a river to the south, Loganholme is home to a number of pests including termites, ants, spiders and mosquitoes. Cockroaches are an ever-present problem, particularly in commercial premises.
Having an annual termite inspection will keep tabs on termite activity and prevent homes from coming under attack. A general pest treatment is a simple and relatively cost-effective way to have peace of mind that the home is free from unwanted crawling and flying insects.
